Use Markty inside ChatGPT

Markty works as a plugin in ChatGPT. Once connected, you can ask your Markty marketing team for briefs, drafts, images, scheduling and AI visibility answers from the chat. Until Markty is listed in ChatGPT's directory, you add it yourself in developer mode, which takes about five minutes.

Before you start

  • A Markty account on a paid plan. Trial accounts cannot connect yet.
  • A ChatGPT Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise or Edu account, used on the web at chatgpt.com. Developer mode is not available in the mobile apps.
  • The brand you want ChatGPT to work with already set up in Markty. One connection works with one brand at a time; you can switch later.

Connect in ChatGPT

    Copy your connector address in Markty

    Open Markty, go to Integrations and find the ChatGPT card. Click Connect and copy the address shown there. It is the same for everyone; what makes it yours is the sign-in that follows.

    Turn on developer mode in ChatGPT

    In ChatGPT, open Settings, then Security and login, and turn on Developer mode. In older layouts it sits under Apps, then Advanced settings.

    Create the Markty plugin

    Open chatgpt.com/plugins and click the plus button to add a new plugin. Name it Markty, add a short description such as "My Markty marketing team", choose Server URL as the connection and paste the address, choose OAuth as the authentication, confirm the notice about trusting the plugin, and click Create.

    Sign in and choose your brand

    Click Connect on the new plugin. A Markty window opens: sign in if you are asked to, pick the brand ChatGPT should work with and click Allow. Back in ChatGPT, Markty appears among your plugins as connected.

    Enable Markty in a chat and ask

    Start a new chat, open the plus menu next to the message box, choose Developer mode and turn Markty on. Then ask for anything you would ask your team. ChatGPT asks for your confirmation before Markty creates or schedules something.

What you can ask

Talk to ChatGPT the way you would talk to a colleague on your marketing team. A few examples:

  • What is my brand voice, and who is my audience?
  • Give me today's brief.
  • Draft three Instagram posts about our autumn collection.
  • Create an image for a weekend sale post.
  • Schedule this post for Friday at 10:00.
  • How is my AI visibility this month?
  • Switch to my other brand.

Good to know

  • Nothing is published without you. Posts you schedule from ChatGPT wait for your approval in the Markty calendar.
  • Credits are spent exactly as they would be in the Markty app, and ChatGPT tells you the cost whenever a tool charges credits.
  • Some requests take longer than ChatGPT waits. If ChatGPT says the Markty team is still working, ask it to check again after a short moment; the finished reply is delivered without running the job twice.
  • Images arrive as links that stay valid for seven days. ChatGPT shows them inline when it can, and the same image is saved in your Markty history.
  • Your Markty team keeps the day's conversation going, so a follow-up question continues where you left off.
  • You can disconnect at any time from the ChatGPT card in Markty or by removing the plugin in ChatGPT. Changing your Markty password also disconnects every assistant.

Troubleshooting

I cannot find developer mode.
It is available on Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise and Edu plans, on the web only. Look under Settings, then Security and login; older layouts show it under Apps, then Advanced settings.
Connect ends with "access denied".
Either the Markty account is not on a paid plan, or ChatGPT connections are temporarily paused on Markty's side. Check your plan in Markty and try again a little later.
The Markty window says this is not available on my plan.
Assistant connections are part of Markty's paid plans. Upgrade in Markty and connect again.
The plugin stopped working after I changed my password.
A password change disconnects every assistant for your safety. Open the ChatGPT card in Markty and connect again.
ChatGPT says the request timed out.
Long jobs finish in the background. Ask ChatGPT to check the team's reply; the answer is collected on the next check without starting the job again.

Your data

While a connection is active, the results of your own requests are delivered to ChatGPT, which is operated by OpenAI. Markty never sends anything on its own, and your password, payment details and social-account tokens are never accessible through a connection. Section 8 of the privacy policy explains what is shared and how to withdraw.
