WordPress Integration

Connecting WordPress lets Markty publish the blog posts it writes straight to your site, as a draft or live, with the cover image, tags, categories and SEO fields already filled in. It can also drop a post on the content calendar and publish it for you at the scheduled time. The connection runs through WordPress.com OAuth, and once it is live Markty can list, edit and delete posts and pages that are already on the site.

What Markty does with WordPress

  • Publish from Markty's blog editor as a draft or a live post, carrying title, body, excerpt, slug, cover image, tags and categories.
  • If Yoast SEO is installed, Markty writes the meta title, meta description and focus keyword into the Yoast fields. It detects Yoast and WooCommerce from your site's REST API namespaces at connect time.
  • Schedule a post as a blog item on the content calendar. A publisher job checks every minute and pushes it to WordPress at the time you picked.
  • Browse the recent posts and pages already on your site from inside Markty: rename them, switch between draft and published, or delete them.

How to connect it

  1. 1Open Integrations in Markty and find the WordPress card.
  2. 2Connecting is a paid-plan feature, and so is managing the posts and pages already on your site: trial accounts see an upgrade button instead of Connect.
  3. 3Click Connect, sign in at WordPress.com and authorize Markty. You are returned to Markty and the card shows your site name.
  4. 4Markty reads the site's REST API namespaces once and records whether Yoast SEO and WooCommerce are present.
  5. 5Write a post in the SEO department, then either publish to WordPress from the editor or drop it on the calendar as a blog post for a later date.

FAQ

Does Markty publish live or as a draft?

Both, and you choose per post. The publish action takes a status of draft or publish, so you can send everything to drafts and review inside WordPress first.

Will it fill in my SEO fields?

Only if Yoast SEO is on the site. Markty checks for it when you connect, and when it is there it writes the meta title, meta description and focus keyword alongside the post.

Can Markty schedule blog posts?

Yes. Blog is one of the platforms the content calendar can schedule, alongside Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook and Pinterest, and the scheduler publishes it to WordPress at the time you set.

Which WordPress sites can I connect?

The connection runs through WordPress.com OAuth, so the site has to be reachable through a WordPress.com account. You authorize from WordPress.com and Markty stores the site it returns.
