Markty vs Claude Cowork
Key takeaways
- Claude Cowork is a general assistant included with every paid Claude plan from $20 a month. Anthropic describes it as taking a goal and working across your files and tools. It does marketing tasks well, but only when a person sets up and directs each one.
- Markty AI is a marketing team rather than an assistant. Its AI employees plan the content calendar, write posts and articles, produce visuals, publish to Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Pinterest and Reddit, and measure results, without anyone briefing them each week.
- The real cost comparison is not $20 against $45. It is $20 plus the owners hours directing Cowork against a flat Markty bill with the calendar, drafts, visuals and measurement already done. Which is cheaper depends on what your time is worth.
- Cowork wins outside marketing: files, spreadsheets, Microsoft 365 and Google Drive documents, Legal and Finance plugins, and a built-in browser. Markty does none of that. Coworks scheduled tasks run unattended, which is the closest it gets to an employee.
- Cowork has no native publishing to Instagram or LinkedIn, no content calendar, and no measurement of whether ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or Perplexity name your brand. Marktys Manager package covers all three. Using both is a legitimate answer for many owners.
Verdict: Claude Cowork is the better buy if you already pay for Claude Pro, marketing is one of many things you need help with, and you are willing to direct every task. Markty AI is the better buy if marketing has to happen every week whether or not you have time to brief anyone, you want it published and measured, and you would rather pay a flat bill than spend evenings prompting. Many owners should run both.
| Feature | Markty | Claude Cowork |
|---|---|---|
| Core assumption | Assumes nobody in the business has time to run marketing. Role-specialised AI employees plan, write, design, publish and measure, and the owner reviews rather than directs. | Assumes a capable person is directing the work. Anthropics own description is give it a goal, and it works across your files and tools. The person supplies the goal every time. |
| Price and billing shape | Flat monthly bill on a credit ladder. Senior from $45 a month for 1,000 credits to $179 for 5,000, one seat and one brand. Manager from $200 a month for 6,000 credits, three seats and three brands. Cancel any time, no contract, no free trial. | Included with paid Claude plans. Pro $20 a month $17 a month on annual billing. Max from $100 a month. Team Standard $20 per seat a month on annual $25 monthly. Not on the free plan. Usage limits reset on a rolling five-hour window, with weekly caps on paid plans. |
| Marketing knowledge out of the box | Arrives knowing the job: content calendars, platform-specific copy and hashtags, blog articles in the brand voice, email campaigns, Google Business Profile upkeep and review replies drafted in your tone. | General. It knows how to write and research, not what your posting cadence or content calendar should be. A Brand Voice plugin by Tribe AI is listed the marketing plan is yours to supply. |
| Publishing and integrations | Publishes to Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Pinterest and Reddit. 23 integrations including Gmail, Outlook, WordPress, Mailchimp, Google Analytics, Search Console, Canva, HubSpot and Slack. Telegram control included. | Named connectors are Microsoft 365, Google Drive, Slack and Amplitude, plus a built-in browser in the side panel. No native publishing to Instagram or LinkedIn a post it drafts still has to be posted by you. |
| Scheduled or autonomous work | Recurring by design. Posts drafted every week, articles every month, weekly AI visibility scans on Manager, review replies drafted as reviews arrive, Trend Radar tracking daily. | Scheduled tasks run unattended with no device online, according to Anthropic. Each scheduled task is still a job you define, and agentic runs consume the plan allowance faster than chat. |
| AI visibility measurement | The Manager package runs weekly scans that ask 50 to 150 of your customers real questions on ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Google AI Mode, Google AI Overviews and Perplexity, and tracks 5 to 20 competitors in those answers. | Not offered. You can ask Claude whether it would recommend you, which is one answer from one engine on one day rather than a measurement. |
| Breadth beyond marketing | None by design. No files, spreadsheets, legal or finance work, no coding, no general-purpose browser automation. | Its strength. Anthropic reports that more than 90% of Cowork usage is not software development, with business operations and content creation the largest categories. Legal and Finance plugins ship alongside Brand Voice. |
Claude Cowork is a general assistant that does marketing tasks when you direct each one; Markty AI is a marketing team that does the directing as well as the work. Cowork comes with every paid Claude plan from $20 a month, and Anthropic describes a capable agent that works across files and tools. Markty plans, writes, designs, publishes and measures without a weekly briefing. The cost question is not $20 against $45. It is $20 plus your hours against a flat bill with the work done.
This page is written for one buyer: a small business owner who already pays for Claude Pro and wants to know whether Cowork makes a marketing product unnecessary. The short version is that it makes a lot of ad-hoc marketing work unnecessary, and it makes none of the recurring work go away on its own.
What does Claude Cowork actually do?
Claude Cowork is Anthropic's agent mode for Claude. In Anthropic's words, "give it a goal, and it works across your files and tools." It is included with paid Claude plans, runs as a desktop app with web and mobile in beta since 7 July 2026, and connects to Microsoft 365, Google Drive, Slack and Amplitude, plus a built-in browser.
Three details matter for a marketing buyer. First, Cowork can run scheduled tasks that, in Anthropic's description, run unattended with no device online. That is the closest thing in the product to an employee: a job you define once that repeats on a timetable. Second, Anthropic ships plugins, and the named ones are Brand Voice by Tribe AI, Legal and Finance. Third, Anthropic has said that more than 90% of Cowork usage is not software development, with business operations and content creation the two largest categories. People are already using it for marketing-shaped work.
We have not tested Cowork hands-on. Everything above comes from Anthropic's product and pricing pages, read on 11 September 2026.
Can Cowork replace a marketing tool for a small business?
For one-off tasks, yes, and honestly so. Describe the job and Cowork will draft the launch email, summarise an analytics export or compare competitors' pricing. It does not replace the recurring work, because someone still has to decide what gets made this week, post it and check whether it worked. Cowork removes the drafting and leaves the directing.
That distinction is the whole comparison. A general assistant is a capable worker with no particular brief. Every task starts with a person deciding it should happen, describing it well enough to get a good result, reviewing the output and then doing whatever the assistant cannot, such as posting it. For an owner who enjoys marketing and has the hours, that loop is fine and the marginal cost is zero. For an owner who bought a marketing tool because marketing was not happening, the loop is the problem the tool was supposed to fix.
Scheduled tasks narrow the gap but do not close it. A scheduled Cowork task still needs a person to define what a weekly content run looks like: which channels, what cadence, what voice, what to do with the output. The difference between an AI employee and an autonomous agent is exactly this: an employee arrives knowing the job, an agent arrives knowing how to follow instructions.
What Claude Cowork does that Markty does not
The list is long, and a comparison on a vendor's site is only worth quoting if it says so.
Everything outside marketing. Cowork works across files, spreadsheets and documents in Microsoft 365 and Google Drive, and Anthropic reports business operations as one of its largest use categories. Markty has no file or spreadsheet capability at all.
Legal and Finance plugins. Anthropic names both. Markty does nothing in either area.
A built-in browser. Cowork opens a browser in its side panel and can do web-based work inside it. Markty does no general-purpose browser automation; it reaches each service through that service's own integration.
Long documents and research. A general assistant is a natural fit for a proposal, a report or a competitor teardown that you will produce once. Markty's writing is shaped around recurring marketing output: posts, articles, emails, listings, pages.
Price for a Claude subscriber. If you already pay $20 a month for Claude Pro, Cowork is included. There is no cheaper way to get an agent than the one you already own.
Platform reach. Desktop on four operating systems, web and mobile in beta. Markty is controlled from its web app and from Telegram.
If the honest description of your problem is "I need help with lots of things and marketing is one of them," Cowork addresses more of that surface than any marketing product can. The same logic applies to the other general agents, which we covered in Markty vs Grok Bot.
What Markty does that Cowork does not attempt
Markty is a set of role-specialised AI employees for marketing. The Social Media Specialist builds the content calendar, writes platform-specific copy and hashtags, and publishes. The Graphic Design Specialist produces brand-consistent images and video. The SEO and GEO Specialist writes blog articles in the brand voice, builds FAQs and descriptions for AI answer engines, runs website check-ups and connects to Google Analytics and Search Console. The Email Specialist handles campaigns, offers and outreach, and drafts replies. A Sales Expert covers product listings, proposals and sales emails for e-commerce brands.
Three things separate this from an assistant with a good prompt.
It publishes. Markty posts directly to Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Pinterest and Reddit and works inside 23 integrations, including Gmail, Outlook, WordPress, Mailchimp, Canva, HubSpot, Notion and Slack. Cowork's named connectors are Microsoft 365, Google Drive, Slack and Amplitude. A post that Cowork drafts is still a post you have to publish.
It runs on a calendar it made. The Senior package's first rung drafts 3 posts a week and 4 blog articles a month, and the ladder climbs to 60 posts a week and 55 articles a month on the top Manager rung. Nobody in the business writes the brief. Local Visibility polishes the Google Business Profile, tracks Google Maps and Trustpilot reviews and drafts replies in the brand's tone.
It measures whether AI engines name you. On the Manager package, the AI Visibility engine runs weekly scans that ask 50 to 150 of your customers' real questions on ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Google AI Mode, Google AI Overviews and Perplexity, and tracks 5 to 20 competitors in those answers. Cowork has nothing comparable. You can ask Claude whether it would recommend your business, which is one answer from one engine on one day. Semrush's study of 126 million prompts found that 62% of AI citations produce no brand mention, meaning a site gets used as a source while the brand goes unnamed, and that is only visible if somebody is measuring. What AI visibility is explains why the engine matters more than the one-off question.
Markty is also narrow on purpose. It has no unified inbox, no social listening, no approval workflows, no publishing to X, TikTok, YouTube or Threads, no customer support agent, no coding, and no general browser automation. If you need any of those, it is the wrong tool and Cowork may be the right one.
What does each one really cost?
Cowork costs nothing extra on a paid Claude plan from $20 a month. Markty's Senior package runs from $45 a month for 1,000 credits to $179 for 5,000, one brand and one seat; Manager starts at $200 for 6,000 credits. The comparison that matters is $20 plus the owner's hours against a flat bill with the work done.
Claude's plans, per Anthropic's pricing page: Pro is $20 a month, or $17 a month on annual billing. Max starts at $100 a month with 5x or 20x Pro usage. Team Standard is $20 per seat a month on annual billing ($25 billed monthly) and includes Claude Code and Claude Cowork; Team Premium is $100 per seat on annual ($125 monthly). Enterprise is $20 per seat plus usage. The free plan does not include Cowork.
The part that is easy to miss is the allowance. Anthropic says every plan has limits that reset on a rolling five-hour session window, paid plans add weekly limits, and agentic tasks consume that allowance faster than chat. Anthropic temporarily doubled Cowork limits through 5 August 2026, which tells you how much faster. A long unattended task can exhaust a session before it finishes, and how much of the weekly allowance a given marketing job takes is not something you can look up in advance.
Markty bills the other way round. The Senior package is a flat monthly bill on a credit ladder from $45 a month for 1,000 credits to $179 for 5,000, each rung with one seat and one brand. The Manager package starts at $200 a month for 6,000 credits with three seats and three brands, adds the AI Visibility engine, a separate video allowance and a dedicated account manager, and climbs to $1,000 a month for 40,000 credits and up to eight brands. The rate card is published per job: a written post costs 3 credits, the same post adapted for every channel 8, a photo 10, a website page 25, a website check-up 15. Failed work is never charged, work that has started is never cut off, up to 1,000 unused credits roll over for six months, and chatting with the team never costs credits. There is no contract, no free trial and no free plan. The full ladder is on the Markty pricing page.
Prices verified 11 September 2026 at the vendor's pricing page.
The arithmetic is honest in both directions. If your time directing Cowork is worth less than $45 a month, Cowork is cheaper. If the recurring marketing does not get done when it depends on you sitting down to prompt it, the $45 buys the thing that was missing.
Which should a small business owner choose?
Keep Claude Pro and use Cowork for the general work: documents, spreadsheets, research. Add Markty if marketing has to happen every week regardless of your diary, if you want posts published rather than drafted, or if AI engines need to name your brand. Cowork alone is enough if you have the hours. Using both is a legitimate answer.
The two products overlap at one point only: drafting marketing copy. Everywhere else they pull in different directions. Cowork is broad, general and directed by you. Markty is narrow, specialised and directed by its own calendar. An owner who runs both gets a general assistant for the business and a marketing team for the brand, and neither product is asked to do the thing it is worst at.
A practical way to decide is to look at the last month. If a scheduled Cowork task, or you with a prompt, produced and published a steady run of posts and at least one article, you do not need Markty. If the drafts exist in a folder and the channels went quiet, the problem was never the drafting.
Disclosure and method
Markty AI publishes this page and sells one of the two products described. Read it with that in mind.
We have not tested Claude Cowork hands-on. Every capability, limitation and pricing claim about Cowork comes from Anthropic's product page, its 7 July 2026 post on web and mobile availability, and its pricing page, all read on 11 September 2026. Where we say Cowork does not do something, we mean it does not appear on Anthropic's published connector and plugin lists, and those lists change. Markty's figures were verified against our own pricing page on the same date. Prices change; check the current pricing and Anthropic's pricing page before you buy.
