Mailchimp Integration

Connecting Mailchimp gives Markty's email specialist the ability to act inside your Mailchimp account: build audience lists, add and update subscribers, create segments, and draft campaigns and templates. You ask in plain language in chat and Markty runs the action against your account. It cannot send: there is no send action in the connection, so the send button stays in Mailchimp.

What Markty does with Mailchimp

  • Connect over OAuth from the Integrations page. There is no API key or server prefix to paste, and you can disconnect from the same card.
  • Ask in chat and Markty runs the action in Mailchimp: create an audience list, add or update a subscriber, add a contact to an audience, batch subscribe or unsubscribe, create a segment and add members to it.
  • Draft the campaign and its template inside Mailchimp, and attach member notes, interest categories and campaign feedback.
  • The connection is limited to a fixed allowlist of Mailchimp actions. Sending a campaign is not on it, so nothing reaches your list until you press send in Mailchimp yourself.

How to connect it

  1. 1Open Integrations in Markty and find the Mailchimp card.
  2. 2Connecting is a paid-plan feature: trial accounts see an upgrade prompt instead of a connect button. Click Connect and authorize the account you want Markty to work in on Mailchimp's own OAuth screen.
  3. 3You land back on the Integrations page and the card shows the connected account.
  4. 4Ask the email specialist in chat, for example "add these contacts to my newsletter audience" or "draft a campaign for the spring launch", then open Mailchimp to review and send.

FAQ

Can Markty send my Mailchimp campaigns?

No. It can create the campaign, the template, the audience and the segments, but there is no send action in the connection. You review the campaign in Mailchimp and send it yourself.

Do I need a Mailchimp API key?

No. The connection is OAuth. You grant access from Mailchimp's own screen and can revoke it there, or disconnect from the Markty Integrations page.

Which Mailchimp actions can Markty actually take?

A fixed list of fifteen: create a campaign, read list info, create a list, add or update a list member, add a contact to an audience, batch subscribe or unsubscribe, create a segment, add a member to a segment, add a template, add campaign feedback, campaign statistics feedback, add a member note, archive a member, create an interest category, and add an interest to a category. Sending a campaign is not among them.
