Canva Integration
Connecting Canva links your Canva account in both directions. Visuals generated in Markty can be pushed into Canva as new designs sized to the image, and designs you build in Canva can be pulled back in as media for a scheduled post or as a PDF document for brand knowledge. The editing itself stays in Canva's editor; Markty handles the handoff at both ends.
What Markty does with Canva
- Send a generated visual to Canva as a new design. The image is uploaded to your Canva account and the design is created at the image's own dimensions so the aspect ratio holds, then you get the Canva edit link back.
- Import a Canva design as post media. You pick a design, Markty exports it to PNG or PDF and attaches every page to the post, so a multi-page design arrives as a carousel. A copy is kept in Markty's storage, so the post keeps working after Canva's export links expire.
- Import a Canva design into brand knowledge as a PDF document, so the assistant can draw on it when writing content.
- Create designs without leaving Markty, from preset sizes or custom dimensions, and list your recent designs from the Canva card. In chat, the assistant can also create designs, import external files, resize, upload assets, manage folders and comment on designs.
How to connect it
- 1Open Integrations in Markty and find the Canva card. Integrations require a paid plan: trial accounts see an upgrade prompt instead of a Connect button.
- 2Open the guide on the card to see what the integration can do and what it needs, then click Connect and sign in on Canva's consent screen. The OAuth handoff runs through Composio, our integration provider.
- 3Once connected, the Canva card opens a panel where you can create a design from a preset or custom size and browse your recent designs.
- 4Generated visuals and videos now show a Send to Canva action, and the schedule drawer and brand knowledge screens show Import from Canva.
FAQ
Can Markty edit my existing Canva designs?
No. It can create new designs, import and resize them, upload assets, manage folders and post comments. Changing text, images or layers inside an existing design has to happen in Canva's editor, and Markty gives you the link to open it there.
What happens to a multi-page design when I import it?
Each page is exported as its own image and attached to the post, so a multi-page design comes in as a carousel. Markty copies the files into its own storage, which is why the post survives Canva's export links expiring.
Can I send a generated video to Canva?
Yes, but it lands in your Canva Uploads rather than inside a design. Canva's API only accepts images when creating a design from an asset, so the video is uploaded for you to drag into any project yourself.
Can Markty publish a Canva design straight to social media?
Not from Canva. The exported design comes into Markty as media and you schedule or publish it from there. Markty publishes to Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Pinterest and your blog.
Which Canva plan do I need?
A free account covers creating designs, listing them, uploading assets, folders and comments. Design resize needs Canva Pro or higher, and brand template autofill is Canva Enterprise only, per Canva's own plan limits.
