Google Sheets Integration
Connecting Google Sheets gives Markty's assistant read and write access to your spreadsheets. Be clear on what that means: there is no Sheets view inside Markty, and no automatic sync. You work through chat, asking for a sheet to be built, read, updated, charted or formatted, and the result appears in your own Google account. It is a good fit if your content calendar or metric tracking already lives in a spreadsheet.
What Markty does with Google Sheets
- Structure: create a new spreadsheet, add or delete tabs, list tab names, read spreadsheet info, and search across your spreadsheets by name.
- Read: pull values from a single range or several ranges in one batch, look up a specific row, and aggregate a column.
- Write: update values, batch update, append rows, create rows, find and replace, and clear a range. For recurring reports there is an upsert that matches on a key and updates the existing row instead of adding a duplicate.
- Reporting inside the sheet: create, update, list and delete charts, format cells, add dropdown data validation, and set conditional colour rules, so a Draft / Scheduled / Published tracker can be generated end to end rather than exported as a flat dump.
How to connect it
- 1Open Integrations in Markty and find the Google Sheets card.
- 2Connecting is a paid-plan feature: trial accounts see an upgrade button instead of Connect.
- 3Click Connect and complete Google's OAuth consent. The connection runs through Composio, so Markty holds a connected account rather than your credentials.
- 4Ask in chat, naming the spreadsheet and the tab, for example: append this week's post metrics to my tracking sheet, in the Weekly tab.
- 5For anything you will rerun, ask for an upsert keyed on a column such as date or post ID, so reruns update rows instead of stacking duplicates.
FAQ
Is there a Sheets screen inside Markty?
No. This integration is assistant-only. Nothing about your spreadsheets is mirrored into the Markty interface, and there is no background sync. Every read and write happens because you asked for it in chat.
Which tab does Markty write to?
The first tab, unless you name one. Appends and range clears default to the first tab, so if a spreadsheet has several, say which one in your request.
Can Markty delete a whole spreadsheet?
No. Deleting an entire spreadsheet is not among the enabled tools. The assistant can delete an individual tab or clear a range, so be specific when you ask for a reset.
Will a weekly report duplicate rows every time it runs?
Not if you ask for an upsert. The upsert tool matches on a key column and updates the matching row, appending only when nothing matches.
Do I need Google Drive connected as well?
No. Sheets and Drive are separate connections with separate consent flows. Connect only the one you need, or both if you want file management alongside spreadsheet work.
