Google Calendar Integration
You cannot connect Google Calendar to Markty today, and we would rather say so on this page than let you find out after signing up. The connector exists in the codebase but is switched off on both the server and the client while our OAuth app waits on Google's verification for calendar scopes: the calendar endpoints accept nothing, the background jobs are never started, and the app returns empty results without calling the server. Planning and scheduling currently happen in Markty's own content calendar, and Calendly is available if you need booking and availability data.
What Markty does with Google Calendar
- Markty ships its own content calendar rather than relying on an external one. It has month, two-week, week and day views, filters by platform and by status, and you can drag a scheduled post onto a different day to reschedule it.
- Scheduling from that calendar publishes to Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, Pinterest and blog. Those are the only supported destinations, and no other network is scheduled or published to.
- The Google Calendar connection is genuinely off, not just hidden from the interface: the calendar endpoints accept nothing, the sync and suggestion jobs are disabled at startup, and the app returns empty results without reaching the server. No calendar data is read, stored or written.
- If you need real calendar and availability data in Markty now, connect Calendly instead. Once connected, the assistant can list scheduled events and event types, read invitees, check available times, busy times and availability schedules, and create a scheduling link.
How to connect it
- 1Open Integrations in Markty and you will not find a Google Calendar card: the flow is disabled end to end, so there is nothing to connect.
- 2Use the built-in content calendar for planning. It sits alongside your scheduled posts and supports month, two-week, week and day views with drag-to-reschedule.
- 3If you need booking links and availability, open Integrations in Markty, find the Calendly card and connect it through OAuth.
- 4If Google Calendar sync is a requirement rather than a nice-to-have, ask us where it stands before you commit, instead of assuming a launch date.
FAQ
Can I connect Google Calendar today?
No. There is no Google Calendar card in Integrations, and every calendar endpoint on the server is switched off, so the OAuth flow cannot be started at all.
Why is it disabled rather than shipped?
The integration needs Google to verify our OAuth app for calendar scopes. Until that approval lands, we keep the routes, the background jobs and the client flag switched off rather than shipping something half-working.
Does Markty read my Google Calendar in the background?
No. The calendar sync and suggestion jobs are never started, and the app returns empty results without making a request. No calendar data reaches Markty.
What can I use in the meantime?
The built-in content calendar for planning and scheduling posts across Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, Pinterest and blog, and Calendly if you need meeting availability and scheduling links.
When will Google Calendar support ship?
We are not putting a date on it, because it depends on a third-party review we do not control. Treat this page as a statement of what works today, not a roadmap commitment.
