Notion Integration
Connecting Notion does two things. You can import selected Notion pages into a brand voice, where each page is pulled as Markdown, chunked, embedded and made searchable alongside your other brand knowledge. And once connected, the assistant can read and write your workspace from chat: pages, content blocks, database rows and comments. One thing to know upfront: Notion grants access page by page, so Markty only ever sees what you shared during the connection.
What Markty does with Notion
- Import Notion pages into brand knowledge. Search your workspace or browse recent pages, tick the ones you want, and each page's content is fetched as Markdown and run through the same extract, chunk, embed and summarise pipeline as an uploaded document. Up to 12 pages per import run.
- Pages from chat: create, retrieve, update, search and archive pages, and pull any page's content back as Markdown.
- Content and databases: append text blocks, add multi-block page content, read block contents, and create, fetch, query, insert into and update Notion databases. This is what makes a Notion-based content calendar workable, such as adding next week's row or querying what is already scheduled.
- Collaboration basics: create and read page comments, and list the users in your workspace.
How to connect it
- 1Open Integrations in Markty and find the Notion card.
- 2Connecting is a paid-plan feature: trial accounts see an upgrade button instead of Connect.
- 3Click Connect and complete Notion's OAuth consent. On Notion's page selection screen, choose every page and database you want Markty to reach. Anything you leave out stays invisible to the integration.
- 4To load pages into brand knowledge, open a brand voice, go to the Knowledge tab, choose Import from Notion, then search and select the pages you want.
- 5For workspace work, ask in chat, for example: save this content plan as a Notion page, or add a row to my content calendar database for next week.
FAQ
Why can't Markty find a page I know exists?
Notion access is per page. If a page was not selected when you connected, the integration cannot see it, so a "not found" almost always means "not granted". Reconnect Notion and add the page or its parent on the selection screen.
How many pages can I import at once?
12 per run. Pages that are effectively empty, or that fall outside your brand knowledge document allowance, are skipped and reported back rather than failing the whole import.
Does an import stay in sync with the Notion page?
No. An import is a snapshot taken when you run it. If the page changes materially, import it again to refresh the brand knowledge.
Can Markty delete my Notion pages?
It can archive a page, which is Notion's recoverable state and reversible from Notion. There is no permanent-deletion tool available to it.
Can Markty publish from Notion straight to social?
Not as one step. Notion is a knowledge and workspace integration. Scheduling and publishing are separate and cover Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, Pinterest and blog only.
