Google Drive Integration

Connecting Google Drive does two separate things. First, you can import a Drive folder, or hand-picked files, straight into a brand voice: documents become searchable brand knowledge, images land in your image library, and native Google Docs, Sheets and Slides are converted for you. Second, once connected, the assistant can work with your Drive in chat, from finding and creating files to managing who has access.

What Markty does with Google Drive

  • Import a Drive folder or selected files into a brand voice. PDF, DOCX, TXT, MD, CSV and XLSX documents are extracted, chunked and embedded into brand knowledge. JPEG, PNG, WEBP and GIF images go to the image library and are analyzed. Native Google Docs, Sheets and Slides are exported to a supported format automatically before import.
  • Browse both My Drive and Shared with me, with folder navigation, search by name and inline image thumbnails. An images-only picker is available when you are filling the brand asset library rather than the knowledge base.
  • Import limits are stated, not silent: 20 MB per document, 10 MB per image, 16 files per run. Anything skipped is listed with a reason (unsupported format, too large, no permission, image library full), and files left over from a run are reported so you can import again to continue.
  • In chat, the assistant can list, find, create, upload, download, copy and move files and folders, export a Doc, Sheet or Slides file to PDF or another format, and manage sharing end to end: grant, list, change and revoke access by email address.

How to connect it

  1. 1Open Integrations in Markty and find the Google Drive card.
  2. 2Connecting is a paid-plan feature: trial accounts see an upgrade button instead of Connect.
  3. 3Click Connect and complete Google's OAuth consent. The connection runs through Composio, so Markty holds a connected account rather than your credentials.
  4. 4To load files into brand knowledge, open a brand voice, go to the Knowledge tab, choose Import from Google Drive, then browse to a folder or tick individual files. For images only, use the same import from the brand assets library.
  5. 5For everything else, ask in chat, for example: create a Q3 Campaign folder and put the brief in it, or export the campaign brief as a PDF.

FAQ

Can Markty permanently delete my Drive files?

No. The permanent-delete tool is deliberately left off the allowlist. The assistant can only move a file to trash, and it can untrash the same file afterwards. It also asks you to confirm before trashing or moving anything when your instruction is ambiguous.

Which file types can be imported into brand knowledge?

PDF, DOCX, TXT, MD, CSV and XLSX documents, plus JPEG, PNG, WEBP and GIF images. Native Google Docs, Sheets and Slides are exported first and then imported. Everything else is skipped and shown in the results as unsupported.

How many files can I import at once?

16 files per run, with a 20 MB cap per document and 10 MB per image. If a folder holds more than that, Markty tells you how many were left over and you run the import again to continue where it stopped.

Can I import from Shared with me, or only My Drive?

Both. The picker has a My Drive view and a Shared with me view, and you can import from either.

Does connecting Drive let Markty publish my content anywhere?

No. Drive is a file and knowledge integration. Scheduling and publishing are separate integrations and cover Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, Pinterest and blog only.
