Todoist Integration
Connecting Todoist gives Markty's assistant read and write access to your tasks and projects, so you can capture and check off work in the same chat where you plan campaigns. Todoist also has its own panel inside Markty: the connected card opens a quick-add drawer where you pick a project and type a task. Nothing runs on a schedule, the tools are called when you ask.
What Markty does with Todoist
- Full task control from chat: create, quick-add, read, list, filter, update, complete, reopen and delete tasks.
- Projects, sections and labels: create and list projects, read and update a project, add sections and labels, and list a project's collaborators.
- Comments: post a comment on a task and read the existing comment thread.
- A quick-add panel inside Markty: the connected Todoist card opens a drawer that loads your projects and adds a task without going through chat.
How to connect it
- 1Open Integrations in Markty and find the Todoist card. Integrations require a paid plan: trial accounts see an upgrade prompt instead of a Connect button.
- 2Open the Todoist card. A pre-connect guide lists what the integration can do and its prerequisite, a Todoist account.
- 3Click Connect, sign in to Todoist and approve the permissions. The OAuth handoff runs through Composio, our integration provider. You are redirected back and the card switches to Connected.
- 4Use the Add task button on the card for quick capture, or ask the assistant in chat, for example "what's on my list today" or "mark Send invoice as done". Disconnect from the same card at any time.
FAQ
What do I need before connecting?
A Todoist account. That is the only prerequisite listed in the connect guide, and connecting is a standard OAuth sign-in.
Can Markty delete my Todoist tasks?
Yes. Delete, close and reopen are in the allowed tool list, which is why the assistant is instructed to confirm with you before removing a task or project when your wording is ambiguous.
Does anything happen automatically after I connect?
No. There is no background sync or scheduled job for Todoist. Tools are called when you ask the assistant, or when you use the Add task panel on the integration card.
Do natural-language due dates work?
Quick-add passes your text to Todoist's own date parser, so "tomorrow" or "Friday" behave exactly as they do in Todoist. It is worth checking that the date landed where you expected.
Does connecting Todoist let Markty publish social posts?
No. Publishing and scheduling in Markty run on Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, Pinterest and blog only. Todoist is task management, it has no publishing role.
